Up to today neither Kojima nor Konami has said whether Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Online will come packaged together or if they'll be sold separately as stand-alones. Well now we know. The two games will indeed be released in the same package. So don't worry about having to buy two different games. The news came from the Jan '08 edition of Playstation Magazine. The Jan '08 edition of Playstation Magazine ranks the top ten games of '08 - number one going to Snake, of course. But more importantly they divulge some juicy details about Metal Gear Online. Here's a quote from VGBlogger, who got their copy in the mail this morning:
"It'll support up to 16 players in modes like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill and Team Sneak on five "Starter Pack" maps. Character customization sounds like a point of emphasis for the title too, with the article stating that players will be able to customize their characters with up to three special skills (they sound very similar to the perks in Call of Duty 4), and that skills and weapons will level up over the course of play."
